What makes an awesome server/ things to build
« on: September 24, 2011, 03:39:15 pm »
Since the server has been down i've been looking into how to make our server popular if/when we go public so heres a list of what i think that we could build/do to help our server grow :):

-YOUTUBE: the main reason why some servers get 50- 100 people on at the same time is becuase of youtube vids. So i'm gonna try and make a big, themed town or something awesome to try and promote the server

- MC serverlist websites: Advertise our server on all of the available server lists, advertising the positive aspects of our server.

- pvp arenas, spleef etc: i noticed that our little town does not have many interactive, gaming or gambling features to it, so how about making a games day every week where people can bet their ores on who wins.

- Starting block: I know that when i go on servers i hate having to start from scratch so i propose we allocate everyone a starter house to live in. Also i noticed on another server that there is a builder kit plugin, which gives the player iron tools to start off with, so he can gather resources easier.

- Creative area: A world that has been set to creative mode so the player can just build and test ideas out.

- Storylines: Like the shadow of israphel and other custom maps, we could create a mini adventure within the village, like a murder mystery thing maybe?

- Nether town: A town in the nether to be used as an alternative to the main overworld.

- Rewards for building: eg. 5 diamonds given to a player if he builds something awesome or something to benefit the community.

- Twist: Something that differentiates our server from others. Makes it stand out

These are all ideas that i am going to work on in the next few weeks. I hope that some of you will help me with these as i am looking of recruiting a team of builders to help me.

thankyou,
