- the Fighters Institute for Sports and Training. The idea is to help boxers who don't know where their next million is coming from. "Not a handout," he says, "a hand up." Cooney'sing to find something for a once-prominent heavyweight in Florida who fought Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman. Five eye surgeries later, "he's only fighting to pay his bills." Another heavyweight, an ex-Olympian, tries to get by on the few hundred a week he makes as a sparring partner. He's 42 years old. There's a former lightweight champ who survives on handouts from Larry Holmes. "That's not helping," Cooney says. "That's only a Band-Aid." Cooney set up another ex-champ with a interview for a job that paid $31 an hour. "He never showed up. But he sent us a taxi bill for $265. He said he couldn't find the place." ergirl and Wolverine/Jubilee)GRAEME: Here??s my biggest problem with this issue: For all the hype, no one actually dies. It??s clear that Johnny isn??t dead, if only because ?C Hi! FF #600 is only a year away ?C but Hickman doesn??t even try and establish his death here. We??re told that the odds are against him and it??s his ??Last Stand,?? but what we??re actually given is him about to have a fight, and then the issue ends. More than anything, it reminds me of a plot beat from Syfy??s Stargate Universe series, where a character is similarly abandoned with aliens, only to come back later basically saying ??Hey, they??re not such bad guys.?? I fully expect the same thing to happen here. There??s a complete lack of?? event, perhaps importance to the end of the issue. It??s underplayed and melodramatic all at once, and incredibly unsatisfying to me as a reader. It??s as if Hickman is so sure that his audience knows that Johnny will be back ?C although I??m fairly sure he??ll return as ??Jonathan Storm?? or ??John Storm,&#822

irst Chinese Stealth Fighter Ready For TakeoffBy Mark Thompson | @MarkThompson_DC | December 27, 2010 | +TweetAviation buffs are buzzing over blurry photographs now surfacing on Chinese military websites purporting to show Beijing??s first stealth fighter jet, the Chengdu J-20 fighter. Chinese aviation fans says they have been snapping pics of the jet during recent taxi tests, with a first flight likely still weeks away. It??s the best holiday gift Western air power advocates could wish for ?? or further evidence of the self-licking ice cream cone nature of defense spending. Most likely, both.Half the fun of such sightings is trying to determine if they are real, or simply Photoshopped fighters created on computer screens. If you think it may be real, you try to figure out its utility ?? and how other air forces might counter it. ??Why would China need or want a short-range stealth aircraft?? asks Bill Sweetman of Aviation Week, a pre-eminent new-plane hunter. ??Any targets with defenses that call for that capability are a long way from the mainland.??Some observers believe the jet is genuine, and overdue.
